It’s 4:58am and I’m at my computer in my home actually writing. Wow!
I recently read an article that basically said if you want to get more things done, get up earlier. The writer went on to assert that by getting up early and doing the things you truly value, you will reorder the way you think. He said that you will begin to look forward to getting up early and doing that thing or those things you value.
My first reaction was, “Hog Wash.” I hate mornings. Plus I already have to get up at 5am just to barely get to work on time, while being half asleep. How am I supposed to get up early.”
Yet I couldn’t get the article out of my mind. So I decided to try it once or twice just to give myself the satisfaction of proving the writer wrong.
Yesterday I reset my alarm clock for the alarming time of 4:15am. I was surprised that I was excited about getting to write. I have not done in writing is so long that the very idea of writing anything was actually exciting. I thought about it when I went to bed. During the times when I awoke in the night, I was surprised to find writing on my mind.
The alarm went off. I actually got up. I got myself ready for the day at at 4:58am I was at my keyboard writing. Could this be the start of a new thing? We’ll see.
